MogaDao Yoga is an innovative yoga system which fuses classical Ashtanga and Iyengar Yoga with a Daoist philosophical and spiritual paradigm. The practice of MogaDao involves performing either slow Hatha or dynamic Vinyasa yoga poses while incorporating an awareness of qi, or subtle energy, as practiced in traditional qigong. MogaDao Yoga seeks to create a state of inner harmony and balance consistent with the 5 Element Theory that underlies Traditional Chinese Medicine.
What to expect
MogaDao Yoga classes are organized around the five elements of traditional Chinese medicine: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water. Students practice a wide range of classical yoga asanas hybridized with motions derived from qigong, resulting in a dynamic, flowing, and meditative practice.
MogaDao Yoga was developed by Daniel Villasenor to infuse his yoga practice with his deep knowledge of Daoist traditions.
